Suicide bombing is not an indiscriminate attack on "infidels;" Robert Pape documents in his book, "Dying To Win," that Muslim suicide terrorists are primarily motivated by the political goal of expelling foreign troops from their homelands. Michael Scheuer, former CIA bin Laden Unit Chief, writes, "the focused and lethal threat posed to US national security arises not from Muslims being offended by what America is but rather from their plausible perception that the things they most love--God, Islam, their brethren, and Muslim lands--are being attacked by America."
